LTO Noord board member Andries Middag is the successor to Hylke Brunt as director of the Association for the Potato Processing Industry (Vavi). Afternoon previously worked on topics related to sustainability, innovation and the economy. These strategic issues are also being further expanded at the Vavi.
Hylke Brunt left the Vavi last month after serving as secretary for more than five years. He frequently appeared as the face of the potato processing industry. Brunt, who continues his career at Douwe Egberts, will be succeeded by 37-year-old Andries Middag. He has been working at LTO Noord for ten years in various positions in the field of spatial planning, among other things.
Sustainable Growth
Vavi chairman and CEO of Aviko Chris Deen states in the press release that Middag can make a significant contribution to sustainable growth and innovation for the potato processing industry: "I have every confidence that together we can support the companies in our sector in their challenges. ."
Afternoon's main task will be to expand the worldwide position of Dutch potato processors. Sustainability through the climate and energy transition, but also environmental issues and biodiversity are mentioned in the same breath.
European interests
De Vavi represents the interests of its members in both The Hague and Brussels. In addition, the association is actively involved in BO Akkerbouw and the European organization of potato processors (Euppa). There is also administrative coordination with the NAO and LTO.
