The gross yield of French fries potatoes increased by 34 tons between weeks 35 and 3 from 56,5 to 59,5 tons per hectare in the 40mm upward size. In weeks 33 to 34 the growth was 2,5 tons. While the crop level is considerably lower than in other years at the moment and is declining rapidly. If you deduct 15% from this figure for spray tracks, headlands and corners, the result is 50,5 net tonnes per hectare.

The weekly growth in tons is lower than the five-year average, but at 59,5 gross tons the yield is still the highest after the 2017 growing season. The years 2019, 2020 and 2021 follow closely and had between 35 and 57 tons in week 59. The dry 2018 lags far behind with 50 tons in week 35. A large proportion of the sampled plots are irrigated, with the irrigated plots showing good yields this year.

Underwater weight drops for the first time
The underwater weight drops in week 35 for the first time this season from 414 to 412 grams. This means that the OWG is still far above average. The five-year average is approximately 385 grams in week 35. The size of the batches (50 millimeters upwards) increased from 79% to 81% last week. This means that the size of the chip potatoes remains below the five-year average and is exactly in line with 2018.
