Change of management in top seed potato group Agrico

12 September 2022 - Jurphaas Lugtenburg - 5 comments

Seed potato trading house Agrico will appoint Mark Zuidhof (photo) as Operational Director (COO) as of 16 September. Zuidhof will form the management of Agrico together with the incumbent director Jan van Hoogen. As of January 1, 2024, Van Hoogen will step down as director and transfer his duties completely to Zuidhof.

Agrico has opted for this temporary adjustment in the management structure to enable a warm transfer of tasks, powers and responsibilities. "We strive for a careful process without time pressure in the transfer," said Adrie Vermeulen, chairman of the supervisory board, in the message announcing the transfer. "That does justice to the nature, size and complexity of the company and its participations. Agrico also occupies an important position in the industry, both nationally and internationally. Jan van Hoogen has always made great efforts to achieve this. That position must of course be maintained. remain with a change of management. That is why we are very pleased that we have a suitable internal candidate who, thanks to a transition period, can carefully familiarize himself. We thus guarantee the continuity of the company."

Van Hoogen has been working at Agrico since 1989, the last ten years as CEO. Zuidhof has been employed by the cooperative since 2020. Although Van Hoogen will step down as CEO on 1 January 2024, he will remain associated with the cooperative as an advisor for a few more months. In that role he will perform a number of jobs, but they are separate from the management.
