Potato processors run at a moderate pace

The latest processing figures provide insight into the pace at which French fries manufacturers process potatoes. Inferring from the current activities in the purchasing channel, it could be concluded that the processing pace in September must have been quite normal. But is that conclusion also consistent with the published figures?

The latest processing figures for French fries potatoes concern the processing for the month of September. The published figures show a processing volume of 325.800 tons. Compared to the same month in 2021, this is 17.800 tons less (-5,2%). The multi-year average in September of the last ten years is 328.070 tons and the processing figure for 2022 is therefore also below that.

From the processed volume, 176.800 tons of product were produced, of which 146.800 tons of pre-baked product and the remaining volume was processed into other products. Nearly 40% of the processed volume came from imports, equivalent to 130.100 tons. This brings the processing efficiency to 54,3%.{{dataviewSnapshot(2_1666095740)}}
