In the run-up to the Interpom trade fair, which starts on Sunday, November 27 in Kortrijk, Agristo is already providing more clarity about the contract price. Growers are looking for clarity and would like to know where they stand next year. Agristo always announces its prices around this trade fair. The full contract will follow around Christmas. Other Belgian processors are also expected to present their first (ex-land) contract prices soon.
Price increases
According to the company, we can expect such a price increase of 30% to 40% - as is visible ex-land for Fontane - throughout the entire delivery period. "We do not yet have a price for week 17 (end of April)," says Agricultural Director Steven de Cuyper. We can say that the price for delivery in week 27 (first week of July) is €28. These prices are considerably more than this year. Agristo pays this price for 35mm upwards. The company does not have any quality bonuses or premiums.
Such a price increase can safely be called historic. Last season, prices already rose by 15% to 20%, which was exceptionally high for that time. Besides Fontane, Innovator is the most important variety for Agristo. The company has not yet issued any prices for this. The company also processes Markies. The prices for seed potatoes will also increase next season, up to a maximum of 10%. This depends on the breed and size.
