Potato trading house APF-Eriva announced its basic pool price for the 8 harvest early yesterday (Thursday, June 2022). When the market hit $30 in February, pool managers ramped up sales. The average pool price for week 13 is just below this level.
The pool price of APF-Eriva for harvest 2022 averages €28,70 per 100 kilos for week 13. This concerns the pool without presale. The pool price with presale is slightly lower and stands at €26,20 per 100 kilos.
Agria at 30 euros
Innovator performs above average in the French fries pool and €29,00 is paid for this. €28,00 has been paid out for Fontane. Agria has performed best in terms of price and comes out at €30,00, or a variety premium of €1,30 per 100 kilos. Lady Anna has a small plus compared to the average price and the Titanium and Melody varieties are at Fontane level. The prices apply to potatoes with at least 60% 50 millimeters upwards and 360 grams underwater weight or higher. The custody fee increased from week 13 (April) to €2,99 in week 26, the last week of June.
APF-Eriva started (as in all previous years) with sales from €20 and gradually sold until the market price took a big step in February and the first digit started with a 3. From then on they have scaled up in sales. According to Michel van Oijen, co-owner of APF-Eriva, they adhered to the agreed strategy. "We only sold from €20 and would increase sales at a market price of €30. That was our strategy for the past season and we stuck to it. We did not speculate with pool potatoes."
