Stolen money from HZPC is out of the hands of cyber criminals

26 September 2023 - Jesse Torringa

Seed potato trading house Royal HZPC has taken steps forward in the investigation and procedure of the cyber attack that hit the company on September 14. HZPC indicates that the money is out of the hands of the criminals and assumes that it will get the stolen money back through the required legal steps.

On Thursday, September 14, the trading house was the target of a form of cybercrime. A large amount of money had been transferred to the criminals' bank account. Today (September 26), the company reports that it can say with 'a reasonable level of certainty' that the money is in blocked accounts and is out of the hands of the criminals.

The required legal procedures have now been initiated to recover the money and the company indicates that it believes this will be successful. Nevertheless, the entire legal process may still take months.
