As expected, the Dutch processors have also completed the contracts for the 2024/2025 season. That is more than a week after the Belgian processors. The first contract overviews of Farm Frites in this case show that a significant price jump has been made compared to the 2023 harvest year.
Farm Frites paid €35 per tonne for Fontane during the harvest year (week 39-175), but this will be €180 for the coming harvest year (week 36-42). For Fontane, the contract price in week 1 of 2025 is €222,50. That is €14 per tonne higher compared to 2023. For week 17 it is €274,50, an increase of €28 per tonne versus 2023, rising to as much as €301 (which is also €28 per tonne more compared to 2023) .
Innovator at the forefront
In the Farm Frites contract overview, the prices for varieties such as Markies and Donata are €279,50 per tonne and Agria €284,50 per tonne for delivery week 17. Innovator takes the cake with €297 per ton delivered in week 17, rising to €316 in week 26.
Ultimately, the price table accompanying the contract does not say everything. It is a solid basis for negotiations. Preconditions such as delivery of the seed potatoes, which volume is set at a fixed price and which part falls outside the scope and is settled 'differently' (read: at the daily price) ultimately complete the picture for the contract price negotiations and the intended return per hectare.
