Nedato has announced the results of the so-called Nedato Flex System for the 2024 harvest. The company uses four pricing systems: fixed price contracts, click contracts, pool and daily price. These show a varied payout, with the gap between the highest and lowest average price being €14,50.
The average price achieved by member growers under fixed price contracts is €23,50 per 100 kilos, the average price in the pool is €33. On the futures market with the click contracts, Nedato growers achieved an average price of €34,45. Selling at daily price emerges as the 'winner' with an average price of €38 per 100 kilos.
In the pool, Nedato does pay a surcharge of €2 for the Innovator, Marquis and Lady Anna varieties. For Agria that is even €5. According to the organization, estimating what the last potatoes in the pool will yield is difficult and uncertain. Nedato paid out the pool later than usual this season. An advance was paid in June and a subsequent payment will now follow.
Boundaries pushed
In the explanation of the prices achieved, Nedato refers to the difficult start to the sales season in September, followed by the steadily rising prices, ultimately reaching more than €60 in June. "Once again, boundaries have been pushed and fixed patterns have been broken. A better distribution of margins in the chain is a fact. Now maintain this," Nedato reasons.
