Quite a bit of supply but above all a total lack of buyers. That is in a nutshell the summary of how the potato market is doing. However, the market does seem to have reached the provisional low point if we look at the DCA EU-4 Potato Index.
Belgium, Germany and France remain unchanged this week in the Potato Index. Fontane forms the bottom in the market. All three countries agree on the price: namely €7,50 per 100 kilos. The Netherlands deviated considerably in recent weeks, but is now also increasingly approaching the other EU-4 countries. PotatoNL quoted €7,50 to €10 for Fontane last week. Reka quoted €14 for both Agria and Innovator. With a quote of €11,50 to €15, the Netherlands was slightly below the German quote. With a top of €26 for Agria, the Netherlands stood out.
The DCA EU-4 Potato Index this week comes out at €9,75 per 100 kilos. That is a decrease of €0,10 compared to the previous week. The cause of this is the decrease of the potato prices in the Netherlands. The Dutch contribution decreased by €0,75 to €13,13 per 100 kilos.
