Early in the season there was a big demand from the countries that import early seed potatoes. There was also a good demand and mood on the European market, writes Agrico. "We have had a fantastic year", says director Mark Zuidhof in the message at the announcement of the payment price.

Records broken
"All records have been broken, both at Agrico and at the majority of our subsidiaries. We are growing strongly with Agrico Nordic in Denmark, Agrico Polska and Agrico UK were completely sold out and Desmazières (France) was almost completely sold out. Interseme (Slovenia), our smallest subsidiary, also had a high turnover. Here too, all records have been broken."

Agrico is cautious about market expectations for the 2025 harvest. Growers in overseas destinations are faced with low prices for consumption potatoes and that could well have an impact on the demand for seed potatoes. In Northwestern Europe, the processing industry is under pressure due to a very high euro exchange rate, growth in processing in Asia and the unrest caused by developments in the US.
