The price pool to draw from for the DCA EU-4 Potato Index is certainly not getting any bigger. France stopped listing for a while now; Belgapom and Reka dropped out last week.
There's not much trading left in potatoes from the 2024 harvest. This is becoming increasingly noticeable in the potato prices. France stopped listing its French fry potatoes about three weeks ago. Due to a lack of transactions, we also didn't have prices for German potatoes Reka and Belgian potatoes Belgapom this time. Viaverda/Fiwap did, however, offer two prices: €3 to €5 for potatoes from storage and €10 for the first early potatoes destined for the processing industry. In the Netherlands, the low end of Category 1 remained stable at €3, but the high end was lowered by €2 to €8.
Decline continues
Despite the somewhat meager input, the DCA EU-4 Potato Index lists a price for all EU-4 countries. If no price is available, the last known price is used, provided it is no older than three weeks. Consequently, Germany and France remain unchanged in the Index. Belgium and the Netherlands are €1 and €1,37 lower, respectively. The DCA Index falls by €0,36 to €5,87 per 100 kilos.
