Last Tuesday, August 12th, CêlaVíta filed for bankruptcy after struggling to stay afloat for some time. Several factors contributed to this, including: Boerenbusiness in this analysis explained. Liver problems
The 171 employees of the Wezep-based company are now all out of work. The factory is now completely shut down, and all stock has already been delivered. Albert Heijn and Jumbo, among others, reported temporary delivery problems. The Zaandam-based supermarket chain played a decisive role in the case. CêlaVíta lost a major deal with the company, resulting in a significant loss of sales since April of this year.

Deprecated
The bankruptcy didn't come as a surprise to the FNV union either, they told NOS. "Things had been deteriorating for some time. The factory is outdated and there's a backlog of maintenance," said Margreet Pasman of FNV. An ammonia leak was reported last weekend, which ultimately didn't cause any problems.
