The regional trade fair in Middenmeer is lowering the seed potato price for Egyptian-suitable Spuntas this week to €30 to €32 per 100 kilos. This brings the price to less than half the price level at which the season started. Market sentiment remains subdued for the time being due to a lack of trading.

Other varieties listed on the Middenmeer exchange are also experiencing a lack of demand. For example, there are currently no listings for the Bintje and Agria varieties. The last listing for Bintje was on October 22nd; for the 35/45 millimeter size in class A, prices were €35 to €38 per 100 kilos.

The DCA transaction app listed a price of €77 per 100 kilos for Agria class A in September. This was followed by a transaction of €60 per 100 kilos for PB4 in early October. After that, it remained quiet, with only prices being reported for oversized potatoes.
