The discussions will explore whether more intensive collaboration can contribute to a stronger and more sustainable position within the potato sector. The focus will be on whether combining knowledge, experience, and scale can lead to more efficient and sustainable production in the long term, while maintaining prospects for growers.

There are no concrete agreements yet. PotatoNext and Jansen-Dongen will continue to operate completely independently and make their commercial decisions independently of each other. Ongoing activities and existing partnerships remain unchanged.

PotatoNext was established on October 1, 2023, through the merger of three Dutch organizations: Agrico, Nedato, and Leo de Kock. This resulted in a new cooperative of 200 growers with a total of 3.200 hectares of table potatoes and a packaging company that packages and markets 160.000 tons of potatoes annually.

Jansen-Dongen is a family business from Tilburg that has been active for decades in the wholesale and distribution of potatoes, carrots, onions, and other fresh produce. Founded in the 70s, the company is now run by the second and third generations, with a focus on quality, transparency, and development throughout the entire supply chain. Jansen-Dongen offers various varieties of potatoes from Europe and collaborates closely with growers to supply retailers with a range of products that prioritize sustainability and innovation.
