Arable farmers can no longer be kept on the land

26 February 2019 - Anne Jan Doorn - 9 comments

Arable farmers can no longer be kept on the land. The good weather forecast and possible shortages on the market mean that onions are already being planted and sown in many places. Potatoes are also being planted and carrots and beets have already been sown here and there.

While planting the early potatoes in Tholen is already started earlier early potatoes are now also being planted elsewhere in the country. For example, the first potatoes were recently planted at the Koninklijke Maatschap de Wilhelminapolder.

Although some potatoes are already being planted, onions are mainly being planted for the time being. It goes without saying that this is (very) early and the temperatures are currently exceptionally high .

Onions are already being sown in North Holland.

In addition, early carrots are already sown by various arable farmers.

Sowing activities start early not only in the Netherlands, because onions have already been sown in England.

What about spraying toxic agricultural poisons on all kinds of crops?
Yesterday in Nieuwsuur I heard very disturbing things again, that flower bulbs pestisides are poison in baby diapers and that people's houses are full of poisonous flower bulbs poison! and that people get cancer and diseases from all that spraying is really disturbing! And it is already a fact that the insect population is rapidly declining due to all kinds of agricultural pesticides - poisons are the cause of unintended bees, bumblebees are dying at a rapid rate and all other insects are threatened by the use of poisons in agriculture!
I am seriously concerned for our grandchildren, this use of poison on crops and flower bulbs just has to stop immediately, it really can't go on like this with the use of dangerous used pesticides it destroys everything!! then just a worm or a louse on the leaf or holes, by snails, this used to be OK, humanity must accept that these insects + weeds should be in nature that should not be eradicated!

When I see 20 liter cans of glyphosate being offered to citizens on Facebook. Then my hair stands on end.
1 sale in this packaging to private individuals is not allowed

2 what should someone with 20 liters, farmers spray about 2-2,5 liters per hectare (10000 m2). Which citizen has a garden of 10 hectares??

3 are webshops that advise to dose round up with a flower watering can, this is of course completely crazy

Please note, do not try to justify the use in agriculture. But agriculture uses crop protection at the lowest possible dose. 90 and 95% drift reduction nozzles. A flower watering can also have no drift, but run-off and overdosing is of course gigantic.

Sewage in the big cities contains enormous amounts of medicines and contraceptives. So stop doing that???

Dear Sanne, I wonder whether only the farmers should go back to the situation of the past, or whether you want that too. It's so easy to point at someone else.

Dear Sanne, I would like to see that our products with a cosmetic flaw would simply be used, now every carrot with a spot is tare. I would also like to ask you to stop using the same poison that you use in medicines itself is a normal paracetemol poison coming from the same poison producer. So if you point 1 finger at another, 3 are still pointing at you

Well Sanne, due to the much too high drug/GIF use by our citizens, we farmers can no longer safely irrigate our crops, our own crop protection products have a safe authorization, but we do not know what the residues of your medicine in our beautiful clean surface water are. are health risks.

Nieuwsuur was mainly about lily cultivation, which of course only covers a very small area of the Dutch agricultural area.

But yes, a green thought with little understanding can cause a lot.

It's time for them to pay the costs themselves.

Do those dusts come from the spraying or from the flea collar or the ant bait box? the same active ingredients.
