French Sima gives in to Agritechnica
The French agricultural mechanization fair Sima announces that it is changing the exhibition format, which means that the next show will be held in November 2020. In this way, the 2 biggest international shows no longer take place in 1 year.
The exhibition organization Comexposium and the French agricultural mechanization industry Axema made the news on Thursday 4 April known† Instead of the odd years, the fair will be held in the even years from 2020 onwards. This means that 2 editions follow each other.

The next Sima is now scheduled for Sunday 8 to Thursday 12 November 2020. The location has remained the same: Expo Center Paris Nord Villepinte. The 30th edition will then be organized from October 3 to November 2022, XNUMX.
Not only the date will be changed, because the mechanization fair will also get a new 'look and feel'. For example, more attention is being paid to the digital agricultural revolution. The organization also wants to invest in network events during the exhibition days. Innovation should also be a top priority here.

The choice for even years is logical. Sima will take place at the same time as the Agritechnica this year. This mechanization fair now dominates the European mechanization sector and has a major impact on the introduction of novelties worldwide. Manufacturers simply keep their powder dry until Hanover.
Lack of innovations
As with the previous edition, in February there was a lot of grumbling about the lack of groundbreaking innovations and techniques. The tractor brand Mancel gave journalists something to talk about, as did Case IH, with the Versum CVX, but that was it. Manufacturers are also not very positive. The moment (February) is far from ideal, the square meters are expensive and exhibitors have little time to load and remove machines.
By succumbing to superpower Agritechnica, the Sima organization creates a new battle. The Eima will take place in Bologna from 11 to 15 November 2020. The Paris show will be right in front of that. So it remains to be seen how manufacturers respond. Eima has a good image among the participants and added value for the Southern European market.
