Peenmarkt quieter than usual for Easter

Prices on the carrot market show little change. There is a little more trade during Easter, but it is normally busier during this period. The DCA quotation Peen is therefore slightly down.

De DCA listing for tray carrots and B-carrots decreases by €0,50. In particular, the bottom end of the market shows a slight decline, while the top end remains stable at €35 per 100 kilos. The market for C-carrot is very quiet and the price remains unchanged.

Because Easter is approaching, the carrot trade is increasing somewhat. However, the carrot is currently still offered at too high a price. Trade is therefore cautious, as demand from abroad is not so great that higher prices can be passed on to customers.

Another factor is that the first supply from Spain will soon appear on the market. However, due to the rain in the heavy clay areas in Spain, the supply would be delayed. Nevertheless, a good yield is expected from the country.
