Old carrots are still exported, including to Belgium, but in general they are currently switching to new carrots. This causes tension among growers who still have old carrots. However, the price difference between the old and new harvest must increase somewhat to make old carrots interesting again.

Parties over
According to the traders, high prices have been traded for too long, which means that Dutch carrots are no longer interesting. After all, the early carrot has arrived. The expectation is that parties will remain standing. On the other hand, there is still some demand for large carrots, mainly because the early carrots cannot always meet the size that is sometimes requested.

However, this has not prevented the price of large carrots from falling. The DCA quotation of C-peen is €27 to €33 per 100 kilos, which means that the average price drops by €3,50. The quotation for B-carrot also shows a decrease of €1,50, bringing it to €24 to €29 per 100 kilos. It must be noted that trade is very thin. The carrot trade is over.
