While no price can be quoted for old carrots, the market for the new carrot is ready to go. How is the market doing?
The demand for fine carrots has dried up. This carrot will largely be sold via the industry, but at clearly lower price levels. There is still some demand for large carrots here and there, but there is virtually no stock left. The price for this carrot has also fallen.
The DCA listing Peen cannot provide a listing this week because there is insufficient input. There is an indicative price for large carrots: based on a thin input, it can be said that the price has fallen to €20 to €25 per 100 kilos.
Fresh start
The market is now mainly under the spell of new carrots. The expectation is that the first new carrot will come onto the market in week 26. According to traders, the new carrot is 1 to 2 weeks behind schedule, because the current market is running out of stock. The carrot market is therefore going to make a new start.
