The carrot trade is in calm waters. Little happens in Europe and the majority of the offer goes to overseas destinations. The supply is steadily increasing, the prices are fairly stable.
After a week of extreme heat, this week shows more growth for the Dutch carrot. The buyers are waiting to see what this will mean for the supply that will come onto the market in the coming weeks. For the time being, sales are continuing reasonably well and no supply remains.
Overseas export
The market is determined by overseas exports, with demand from Africa, among others. Within Europe it is relatively quiet. Demand comes mainly from neighboring countries: Germany, England, Belgium and Ireland. Demand from Eastern Bloc Europe is much lower due to local production.
