The carrot market is under pressure. There is quite a lot of supply of early carrots, while the demand is largely gone. They wait to buy in the hope that the price will fall further.
Due to the favorable weather, the carrot supply is increasing significantly. In some cases there is a compelling offer, because plots must be cleared within the foreseeable future. However, except for some domestic sales, there is virtually no sales abroad. They have switched to the local harvest.
Because prices are falling, buyer confidence is gone. If prices stabilize, demand is expected to pick up again, the trade expects. For now, however, there is virtually no free trade and the carrot trade is mainly about contract work.
