After falling slightly for several weeks, DCA quotations on the carrot market have stabilized this week. This is mainly due to the export to Africa, which shows a constant demand as a buyer. However, trade continues to monitor how demand from Europe develops and what this will do to the price.
For the time being, demand from Europe is lagging behind. Spoolers who export have enough work, but those who only do business in Europe have it quiet. Yet the price remains stable. This is mainly because sales do not improve if the price falls further. We now have to wait for the storage carrot and what effect it will have on the market.
Stable listing
The DCA Listing of Carrot remains the same. This brings the range for B-carrot to €10 to €13 per 100 kilos, with an average price of €11,50. It must be said that the trade expects that the price should actually drop somewhat, but that this movement is not yet reflected in the traded lots this week. The price for C-carrot also remains stable at €10 to €13 per 100 kilos.
