Finally there is a little more buzz on the carrot market. After weeks in which almost nothing happened, there is a little more demand. However, this question is still far from enough.
Slowly but surely, quite a few lots of carrots are being discarded. Eastern Europe in particular provides some demand. This is partly because the price is not high. Nevertheless, the situation remains that there is a large supply of carrots and little demand.
The problem is that there are actually no setbacks for the carrot harvest this year. The carrot harvest is in principle almost complete everywhere, including in Germany. This means that no hectares have been lost. Despite the fact that there are many quality problems, there is simply a lot of carrot available.
Slightly increasing price
The DCA carrot quotation rises slightly this week. For B-carrot, a price of €9 per 100 kilos will be charged for a range of €7 to €11 per 100 kilos. For C-carrot the price is €12 per 100 kilos (€10 to €14 per 100 kilos).
