The carrot market is still very quiet for the time of year. Low demand and poor quality carrots are pressing on the market. The DCA-quotation carrot remains stable.
The situation on the carrot market seems to be cast in concrete. For weeks it has been a matter of low demand and poor quality. The trade also sees no signs of improvement for the time being, although it is reported that a lot of carrots are still leaving the country unnoticed.
The current trade is often about poorer quality carrots. It is either ex-land trade or batches from the refrigeration that have to go. This continues to depress the price. The DCA Quote Peen is increasing this week by €0,50 per 100 kilos (€7 to €12 per 100 kilos). However, that does not mean a serious change in the market. The price for C-carrot remains stable at €9 to €14 per 100 kilos.
