There is slightly more demand for better quality carrots. It is therefore clearly paid more for that. Nevertheless, the supply of lower quality carrots continues to put pressure on the market.
The market is quiet because there is still little demand. The picture has not really changed compared to the past few weeks, although the better carrots did appear to disappear more easily. The carrot market currently still has a larger supply of carrots that are of poorer quality than good ones.
The DCA carrot quotation therefore remains quite stable at a range of €8 to €13 per 100 kilos for the B carrot. The better quality lots sell for about one euro more than the inferior lots. The price is clearly higher for the coarser batches. For the C-carrot €10 to €14 per 100 kilos is quoted.
