The VAVI (Association for the Potato Processing Industry) has announced that 302.600 tons of potatoes were processed in January of this year, compared to 307.900 tons in January 2019. This means that 5.300 fewer tons of potatoes were processed this year, which corresponds to 1,72 tons. %.
According to VAVI, the volume of pre-baked product was 144.800 tons, compared to 122.500 tons a year earlier. For other products these volumes ranged from 24.000 to 25.600 tons.
The supply of potatoes from abroad was 105.200 tons, 13.500 tons higher than in January 2019, which is approximately 35% of the total processed volume. The processing percentage is 55,8%, compared to 48,1% a year earlier. The processed volume in January 2019 was the lowest monthly volume of this season.
