It is normally always a bit quieter in the week after Easter. Enough has been purchased for these days and these batches will be processed and rinsed first. There is some variability in the crowds. Things are going well at most traders and washing plants, but there are also companies that indicate that they do little or no trade. At least not in B-carrot class I.

C-carrot
Just like last week, there was little to no trade in the C-carrot. Therefore, a DCA quotation cannot be compiled for this. The situation surrounding the stagnant market for C-peen, as a result of the corona crisis, will probably continue for a number of weeks. The C-carrot trade always starts a little later in the season.

Especially in May and June, more processing and trading takes place in the C carrot. The industry then purchases more carrots. It is therefore hoped that the corona measures can be relaxed around the end of this month, so that the catering industry and industries can get going again.

DCA Pean Listing
Last week there was trade for around €21 per 100 kilos. The DCA carrot quotation is €16-€24 per 100 kilos of B carrot. The quotation again varies slightly, which is typical for the 2020 carrot market. The market is a bit rosier for the finer carrots, where the higher amounts are also recorded. The parties at the bottom of the list often require more work. Either the quality is lower or they are not properly sorted.
