The carrot market continues in fits and starts to the end of the season. The demand for carrots has weakened somewhat this week compared to last week. The question is whether this has consequences for the DCA-peen listing.
The current carrot market is slowly heading towards the seasonal finish. There is somewhat less demand from the trade compared to last week. The market already seemed calm at the time and this appears to be continuing. However, there remains a demand for good carrots to this day, but the supply is weakening somewhat. The consequences of a slightly weakening demand for B carrots are not yet reflected in the DCA carrot quotation.
Furthermore, the new harvest of carrots is coming onto the market. However, it is still too wet in Spain to harvest new carrots. Normally, new carrots are released from Spain around this time. A lot of water has fallen on the very heavy clay in the carrot region of Spain. This does not make it possible to harvest this carrot now.
DCA carrot listing
The DCA carrot quotation shows no change in the prices for B carrot. The quotation remains at €20 per 100 kilos on average, with a range of €16 to €24 per 100 kilos of B-carrot. As far as C carrots are concerned, many traders have washed carrots on offer, but today there is still no destination for this as a result of the corona crisis.
