After weeks without a listing for C carrot, there was some more trade in coarser carrots for the first time last week. Demand - including from the domestic peeling and cutting plants - is picking up further this week, resulting in a slightly higher average price.

However, the numbers are relative. Traders indicate that there is little excitement in the market now that the current season is coming to an end. We have to wait for new carrots from Limburg, which are expected from mid-June. The market for B carrot has therefore remained stable. Demand comes from Eastern Europe, Belgium and Northern France, among others.

DCA Pean Listing
Prices that are made are highly dependent on the quality, which leaves something to be desired in many leftover batches. The DCA quotation for B-carrot is unchanged this week and has a range of €16 to €25 per 100 kilos. Due to slightly more demand for C-peen, this quotation will increase by €1 this week, at a price range of €14 to €20 per 100 kilos.
