Cosun Beet Company reports that the processing rate of the beets is at a high level this first week of November. The sugar content has increased slightly in the past week and the average tare percentage is slightly lower this week than was announced on October 23.
According to the latest data from Cosun, the sugar content currently stands at an average of 16,3%. That is a slight increase compared to the update of October 23. At that time, the national average was still about 15,9%. The tare percentage has decreased from 11,6% to approximately 11% over the same period.
Cosun also writes that the harvesting of beets in the west of the Netherlands has lagged somewhat last week, mainly as a result of wet conditions on land. "With the current weather forecasts, the regionally limited beet stock will probably be replenished quickly," Cosun writes.
No regional figures
On Friday, October 30, the processor mistakenly informed the wrong quality figures as a result of an incorrect link between the freight number and sample number at the location in Vierverlaten. As a result, no regional data is available this week. "We are currently in the process of recovering the data," Cosun said.
