Cosun again struggles with figures

12 January 2021 - Kimberly Bakker - 1 reaction

Cosun Beet Company reports that the wrong 'amino-N figures' were determined for some of the samples in the period from November 4 to December 12. For the organization it is the second mistake in a relatively short time. At the end of October, it was already struggling with an error in the quality figures.

The wrong amino-N figures were determined for some of the beet samples in the period between 4 November and 12 December, according to an internal Cosun investigation. In all cases, the numbers are higher than they should be. "We have now determined and checked the correct values. We have also ensured that this deviation cannot occur again," Cosun writes on its website.

Cosun Beet Company does report that the correction is positive for the growers in all cases. "The correction sometimes results in a WIN number that is 1 point higher and in some cases it even leads to an improvement of 2 points," according to the organization.

Second mistake in a short time
This is the second time in a relatively short period of time that the beet growers' organization has made a 'mistake'. At the end of October, the organization mistakenly already communicated incorrect quality figures towards the growers. At the time, this was due to an incorrect link between the freight number and the sample number at the location in Vierverlaten.
