The carrot market is still in calm waters. The mood thus remains the same as last week. Growers and traders both have a wait-and-see attitude. As a result, the Peen DCA quotation remains virtually stable.
Trade continues quietly, but it is not busy. Many traders report that they still had sufficient stock to deal with last week the ongoing question to provide. Demand from the retail market is also reasonable, but exports are only moderate. There is some demand for exports, but large orders are not forthcoming. There is therefore no need to actively engage in farming. That in itself is not unusual for this time of year.
Good quality is scarce
The quality of carrots is generally somewhat lower than 'normal', most traders say. There are also a number of concerns about parties that are declining rapidly in quality. However, many growers are sitting on their stock and are not yet inclined to sell.
