There's a little bit more spice to the organic onion market. The market for organic carrots and table potatoes remains in the same tentative position as in recent weeks.
The market for organic onions is starting to move a little bit. The buyers seem to be moving somewhat towards the sellers. There is more willingness to pay a little more and accommodate custodians due to the fact that they incur more costs. Of course, storing until April costs extra and then earns a small plus compared to the past weeks/months. With this impulse, things are a bit easier and there is more trade in free onions.
The indication for the organic onion market as a whole is about 2 cents higher, that is the general picture. This means that the organic onion price has been rising again for a long time. As a result, the whole market seems a bit more positive and there is a bit more trade being done. In any case, the status quo seems to have been broken a bit. It is added that we have to wait and see what this means for the sequel. The price level for this week rises to €42 to €45 for >30% coarse. The coarser onions score from €40 to €43 per 100 kilograms.
Suppliers of organic carrots do not budge
Not much is happening in the organic carrot market. Buyers continue to wait and see whether they are still well covered for the time being. Providers do not budge as long as the quality remains at the same level. The parties again maintain an unchanged price. The DCA Indication price for good quality (class I) organic carrots therefore remains unchanged at €25 to €30 per 100 kilograms.
The market for organic table potatoes is as quiet as ever. The market is again quoted at €25 to €28 per 100 kilograms. This applies to floury and waxy potatoes from 35 to 65 mm. The mood is expectant.
