Everything seems to fit the organic markets

28 April 2021 - 1 reaction

In the organic markets for table potatoes, onions and carrots, it is a matter of trial and error for the rest of this marketing year. Do the current stocks match the remaining demand, is there a surplus or perhaps a shortage of Dutch product? What do the DCA Indication Prices do?

If we look at the market for organic onions, there is still a good demand for free onions. But there is also quite a bit of product from Dutch soil available. 'Everything will run out', according to a processor. For example, the signals indicate that the onion market will end the year in a balanced way, after which a switch can be made to new products. In any case, the end is in sight with about 3 to 4 weeks to go.

And little spectacle is expected anymore. This means that prices no longer make crazy jumps, it is expected. As a result, unchanged DCA Indication Prices are issued for week 16: €40 to €43 for >30% coarse. And from €38 to €41 per 100 kilos for large onions. The mood is calm, just like last week.

More and more Southern European carrots
In the market for organic carrots, things are running smoothly and not too much is happening. Product from Southern Europe is becoming increasingly available, but the volumes there are still somewhat disappointing due to the cold weather. Switching to a new product seems to be slightly slower as a result. Because there is still enough carrots available, this ultimately has no effect on prices.

And that is not immediately expected. According to the market, the transition to a new product is running smoothly. Supply and demand in a very calm market remain in balance. That is why the DCA Indication Price for good quality (class I) organic carrots is €25 to €30 per 100 kilos. As said, the mood is calm.

Table potatoes on the eve of the new harvest
In the meantime, the market for organic table potatoes is also preparing for the switch to a new harvest. The same applies there as for the organic carrot and onion market. The transition, it is expected, will proceed without significant problems. Little dynamics are therefore available, which has an effect on prices. For crumbly and firm cooking, this remains unchanged at €25 to €28 per 100 kilos. This for field crop, 35-65 millimeters, collected from a Dutch farm or Dutch cold store within 3 weeks. The mood is calm.

Biologically is the same as the surcharge law the edges of biological laws are looked up . Self - interest is the revenue model is paramount to prepare the company for the future for its successors . The products taste fine. Common and organic. Organic is a fashion phenomenon in 10 years it will be in a deep drawer
