The average indicative price for seed potatoes from the 2020 harvest is €25 per 100 kilos. This is the price for class S to A including the average premium, loose, ex farm and excluding all reimbursements. This makes the price approximately 20% lower than the previous season.

Took everything out
Agrico's general manager acknowledges that the price this year is lower than previous seasons, but says in a press release: "Given the current market situation, however, we as Agrico have done everything we can to get what was possible for our members."

Sales to early destinations such as Paksitan and Bangladesh went well. Good quantities were sold here at high prices. Sales in North Africa were much more difficult. Major buyer Algeria introduced an import quota for Dutch seed potatoes. As a result, only 50.000 tons of Dutch seed potatoes could be exported to that country. In Europe the situation varies greatly from country to country. In general, sales of seed potatoes in Europe went well according to Agrico. Spain was one of the countries that was a negative exception to this. Sales of the Agria variety have fallen sharply, but Fontane and Markies were in good demand according to Agrico.
