Agrifirm's pool prices are approximately 20% higher this season compared to last year. The cooperative looks back on a year in which yields were average due to drought, but of good quality.

Good demand for grain
The baking wheat in the basic pool amounts to €193 per tonne. In the storage pool the price is €225,25 per tonne. The sales season of the basic pool runs from May prior to the harvest until May this spring. Since the turn of the year, the market has exceeded €200 per tonne. Partly supported by good demand for raw materials from China and export duties from Russia. This, together with other factors, such as bad weather conditions in North and South America, ensured successful European exports according to Agrifirm. The tight grain balance in the spring gave the market an extra boost.

Malting barley in the basic pool amounts to €187 per tonne this year. The brewing premium rose to €12 per tonne, despite the fact that the malting barley market was under pressure throughout the season. Beer consumption has declined due to corona. Arable farmers in the long storage pool can expect €212,50 in the settlement, including the brewing premium. Agrifirm members receive an additional €1,75 per ton member benefit on top of the prices mentioned.
