Organic harvest is progressing, market is waiting

The market for organic carrots, onion and table potato is relatively quiet. While the carrots still have to be partly harvested, the onions and table potatoes have just about done that. There is currently no pressure to sell. Buyers are also only slowly registering.

What are the DCA Indication Prices for organic table potatoes, carrots and onions doing in this week 39?

Organic carrot
There is little trade in carrots. There has been some trade in the past period. Prices mentioned are between €16 and €18 per 100 kilos. The volumes are not particularly large here. The DCA Indication Price for Dish Carrots/B Carrots Class I therefore ranges from €16 to €18 per 100 kilos and is therefore €2 lower on average than last week.      

Organic onions
The onion market is quiet. Many batches really do need to dry a little before they can be processed. So there is little offer for direct delivery. The trade that is done runs between €35 and €38 per 100 kilos of Class II onions as a DCA Indication Price. Due to the disappointing yield, prices are expected to be higher, but this is not yet reflected in the contracts for the longer term. Customers seem to want to see it first. The price range concerns both the coarse batches (>60% coarse) and the finer onions (>30% coarse)

Organic potatoes
Not too much is happening in the market for organic table potatoes. Farmers have previously considered selling or storing ex-land. Now that everything is behind the shelves, she first focuses on other things. Reportedly, traders want to pay a little more than €50 per 100 kilos, while farmers want a good 60 euros. This is hard to come together without impulse. And because packers have sufficient stock, which they also find it difficult to sell, trade has practically come to a standstill. But the season is still long so they are not really nervous. The DCA Indication Price for this week, for both crumbly and firm cooking, in the 35-65 mm range is €50 to €62 per 100 kg.
