Inspection service NAK is fully engaged in post-checking the seed potatoes. The low virus pressure provides a significantly more positive picture than in previous years.
The first samples for the follow-up inspection arrived at NAK - just like in other years - in mid-August. The influx increased rapidly at the beginning of September. To be able to process the numbers in a timely manner, NAK has taken extra measures this year. For example, the laboratory has been expanded. The result was reflected last week in a higher capacity than in 2019, the year in which NAK had to process a record number of samples.
Back to pre-2018 levels
The reduction percentage is currently 16,6%. That is considerably lower than last year when the reduction percentage at this time was around 31%. Compared to 2019, the scores this year are also many times better. Then the reduction percentage finally came to 35,6%. In 2018 this was 25% and in previous years it was much less. 2021 will now be at that level again, and even slightly below.

De low virus pressure of this season is clearly visible in the follow-up figures. NAK expects to have processed the bulk of the follow-up inspection before mid-November.
