CZAV records solid results in turbulent market

19 November 2021 - Jurphaas Lugtenburg

The CZAV cooperative can look back with satisfaction on the past financial year, which runs from October to September. Among other things, a steadily increasing fertilizer market and extra turnover in crop protection products contributed positively to the cooperative's result.

The market shares of crop protection, organic manure, fertilizer and seeds have developed positively according to the CZAV. Turnover in the animal feed segment is under pressure. New customers are brought in, but they do not make up for the declining demand from companies that are closing. Although various developments have worked in favor of CZAV, 'it is clear that they have led to an increase in cost for our customers/members', the cooperative writes on its website.

Big discount
On the other hand, CZAV can pay out a substantial discount. A good purchasing policy in combination with solid cost control offers scope for this shortfall, which amounts to €2021 million for the 2,5 financial year. In addition, a surcharge of €1,5 million is distributed among the members in connection with the sale of Agrimarkt.
