The control of leaf fungi in grains is the basis for yield security. Growers appreciate the fungicides with a long-lasting effect when spraying flag leaves. Based on the new active ingredient Revysol, various new fungicides with very specific characteristics are becoming available.
According to BASF technical product advisor Bert Westhoff, the new fungicide Revytrex an example of that. The fungicide is perfect for the important T2 spraying in wheat. "With flag leaf spraying, the long-term effect of the fungicide is a crucial property. You want to protect the upper leaves against fungi for as long as possible. Only then can the crop perform optimally."
Superior on septoria
The endurance effect of Revytrex is unprecedented, according to Westhoff. The contents of the active substances in this fungicide are also adjusted accordingly. And the wording also contributes. The active ingredient Revysol is stored in depots in the wax layer of the grain and is released in doses for weeks. On septoria, this active is truly superior. It also tackles resistant strains. And the effectiveness is hardly affected by the weather conditions.
The second active ingredient in Revytrex is Xemium. This has already more than proven itself in other generations of grain fungicides with a good effect against septoria and rust. Because the Xemium molecule can adapt to the cell structures it has to pass, it can reach the fungus very quickly.
High performance and practicality
Revytrex has convincingly demonstrated its added value in test fields in recent years. An additional yield of 300 kilos per hectare compared to reference products confirms this. The ease of use of this fungicide is also distinctive. It is a ready-to-use liquid product with a pleasant dosage of 1,5 l/ha. Recently, the DRT class has also been adjusted to 90%. That will appeal to many grain growers.
