The trade in old crop French fries potatoes seemed to be buried for the remainder of this season. Prices had fallen sharply, which became visible in the quotations. Growers who were tired of waiting had to settle for prices between €12,50 and €15 per 100 kilos.

During Tuesday, the first reports came from growers who were first allowed to consider a bid of €12,50. During Tuesday afternoon, that level was raised to €17,50. This significant increase made it clear that there may be more to be achieved and so games were recorded on Wednesday for €20. For several varieties (Fontane, Marquis and Agria), transactions have been made at €20, so there is no longer any racial distinction. This means that the physical market has returned to the level of the second half of May.
