The regular work continues as usual, but the demand for carrots from Africa is very disappointing this season. According to traders, Dutch products are too expensive. "Potatoes and onions are well priced and wheat is expensive. This means there is not much left for Africans to buy carrots," according to a trader. Exports to Eastern Europe are also relatively quiet. They usually only really reach the market when their own product has run out.

The market is and remains clean according to traders. There are no parties hanging over that market that really have to leave for whatever reason. The high storage costs are playing an increasingly important role in the choices growers make. If all goes well, there are real opportunities after the New Year. But then you have to be sure that the quality of the carrots is really good and that they do not have to be delivered earlier due to stains or other problems. Then storage costs money at the current rates. That is why, according to insiders, there is relatively much interest in selling the carrot from the field.
