Jeroen Schutte's flower bulb company is working hard on growing potatoes, onions, gladioli, tulips, lilies and other bulbous plants. The energy needed to process the harvest mainly comes from the sun.
The power peak at Schutte's farm starts in June and continues until the end of the year. According to Schutte, someone who uses a lot of power in his company should invest in solar panels. His motivation for this is not only financial, but sustainability is also very important to him. "I want to keep my footprint as low as possible."

Financial possibilities
Of course, an investment in an installation must also be financially attractive. Thanks to subsidy solar panels are an interesting additional revenue model. Schutte: "It is therefore not the case that our products are becoming more expensive because we are working sustainably."
Schutte has installed more than 3.000 solar panels on the roofs of its warehouses. With this, it generates almost 700.000 kWh of solar energy per year.
