The organic markets are a bit sluggish and in that respect it is a bit like the Dutch national team: Results are being achieved, but things are anything but automatic.
It has nothing to do with sales of organic onions, but the price is still showing a plus again - just like last week. The organic onions benefit from the price of conventional onions, which have risen again in price. Considering the sales and interest in the product, virtually nothing has changed compared to previous weeks and that seems to remain that way for the time being. Due to the price increase of conventional onions, the DCA Indication Price is also increasing this week. The DCA indicative price for organic onions is increasing and amounts to an average of €37 per 100 kilos.
The organic potato market is under pressure due to difficult sales. The interest from abroad is minimal and currently less is being purchased than is normally the case at this time of year. Only the permanent work that has been agreed will continue. For the rest, there is no progress in the market, which has also been disappointing in recent weeks. The DCA Indication Price for organic potatoes will decrease again this week by €1 per 100 kilos. This brings the quotation to €33 to €38 per 100 kilos.
Peen is right again
The harvesting season for organic carrots is almost over and it seems that we are finally switching to only carrots from storage.
