Growers keep the mood on the organic market for potatoes, carrots and onions. That doesn't mean a lot of trade, though. But there are still opportunities, according to the prevailing thoughts among growers.
The onion trade is relatively quiet at the moment. For sales, Dutch sorters mainly rely on demand from neighboring countries. They continue to buy steadily, but do not take an extra step. The spread in onion prices is large. The DCA Indication price for both coarse and fine onions will be €42 to €50 per 100 kilos this week.
Growers provide a limited supply
There is very little trade in potatoes. What comes onto the market is often the parties with a story. Growers with really good free potatoes are still keeping the door closed. Just like with onions, there are also major differences in the prices that are mentioned. The DCA Indication Price ranges from €33 to €40 per 100 kilos. Organic carrots find their way onto the market more easily. Rinsers can get rid of the carrots well, partly because Germany is good on the market. The DCA Indication price for carrots has therefore taken a step up this week and amounts to €48 to €52 per 100 kilos.
