There is currently relatively little trade in the organic markets, but that does not mean that nothing is happening. Growers continue to gain confidence in the current market, especially organic carrots. Buyers are reacting cautiously, but they are also not standing still.
The demand for organic carrots has increased somewhat in recent weeks and that is the case again this week. The demand comes more and more from abroad, but the Dutch rinsers also have their regular jobs. This ensures healthy demand and once again results in an increase in the DCA Indication Price. The DCA Indicative Price varies considerably from €48 to €57 per 100 kilos. This means the price increases by €2 per 100 kilos compared to last week.
Trade on the organic onion market is relatively quiet. More information is being provided than before, but this does not lead to direct trade. It seems that - just like with conventional onions - the supply of organic onions is only limited. After all, some of the organic onions are sold in the conventional market. The DCA Indicative Price for onions takes a step up and stands at €46 to €52 per 100 kilos, immediate delivery.
The organic potato market appears unchanged and is going smoothly. There is hardly any free trade and what is delivered is mainly part of contracts and previously made agreements. As a result, there are few transactions. Growers do have confidence and are therefore in no hurry to sell at the moment. The DCA Indicative Price for organic potatoes therefore remains the same at €33 to €38 per 100 kilos.
