Limited demand and growers who do not want to dig up carrots at all costs. This currently creates a market that is difficult to interpret. The regular work continues well with most rinsers, but that is where it ends. Things are still to come for both growers and rinsers.
It's not all wild in the carrot trade. Africa is lagging behind a bit. Sometimes you have Eastern Europe that is on the market, but that is absolutely not the case now. In fact, Eastern Europeans are almost peddling the carrot here. That doesn't help the mood, to put it mildly. The quality of the carrot is and remains variable. While you could otherwise get away with less carrots for buyers who are less critical, that is not the case at all now. There are plenty of good carrots at reasonable prices. The trade and processors ignore what is wrong.
Found bottom?
The DCA Listing b-carrot has taken a step back this week to €15 to €18 per 100 kilos. That €15 seems to be a fairly solid bottom in the market at the moment. Below this, growers do not want to dig up. The DCA Quotation c-peen has remained stable at €10 to €14. However, large volumes of carrots are not purchased.
