It has been in the air for a while, the positive mood on the organic onion market continues to grow. The volumes of yellow onions going across the border are increasing further, both for the fine and coarse size grading. In addition, it is clear that the kilos in storage this year are below the long-term average due to the moderate growing season and the total supply of organic onions is lower. With current sales, this will become even less quickly. The grower is also aware of this and does not quickly say goodbye to good parties. There are also lesser parties or parties that are disappointing, but they do not get in the way of the market. However, the price range is therefore wide. The DCA Indication Price for organic yellow onions is increasing and amounts to €55 to €68 per 100 kilos, with the fine size grading at the bottom and the coarse size grading at the top of this width.

Peen takes another step up
The organic carrot price has made significant progress in recent weeks since the harvest, partly thanks to interest from Germany. Compared to the start of the harvest, the price has even doubled. There is no shortage of demand after New Year's Eve, but sales are somewhat quieter than was previously the case, according to an insider. It does not mean that the wind has started blowing differently. On the contrary, because just like with onions, growers are also firmly in the saddle here. A point of concern is the lower quality, which is affecting more and more parties due to the wet and harsh harvest conditions. The DCA Indicative Price takes another step this week and amounts to €42 to €51 per 100 kilos, delivered from the grower.

Sales are not exactly booming on the organic table potato market, but they are continuing well. This is partly due to exports, but on the other hand a larger volume also goes to retail. The potatoes that find their way into this are mainly fixed at fixed prices earlier this season and there are currently few transactions on the farm. That's not surprising for the time of year. The DCA Indication Price for organic table potatoes remains the same this week at €50 to €68 per 100 kilos. The range is wide and that is due to the difference in breed, the quality of the batch and the sales market.

The mood on the organic table potato market has not changed after New Year's Eve compared to earlier this storage season. There is no shortage of interest from domestically and from export destinations, which should lead to an increase in sales in the coming months. To date, the volume that has been deposited is not particularly high. However, more sales have been made than was the case last season, an insider indicates. The DCA Indication Price for organic table potatoes remains the same this week at €50 to €68 per 100 kilos. The range is wide and that is due to the difference in breed, the quality of the batch and the sales market.
