The momentum continues to grow on the organic carrot market. Sales continue smoothly and consignments are collected quickly. Quality does play a role in this, but the lesser parties also find their way easily, at a slightly lower price. The differences are very large. Very good quality batches alternate with very mediocre ones, according to an insider. Now that the carrots have been in storage for a little longer each week, the consequences of the wet harvest season and the harsh conditions are becoming increasingly visible.

Due to the good sales, it clears up quite well in the storage sheds with organic carrots. Purchasing must continue to meet demand. Growers are willing to trade given the quality, but are also reluctant due to the current price trend. They have no shortage of confidence. The DCA Indicative Price takes another step this week and amounts to €48 to €59 per 100 kilos, delivered from the grower.

Table potatoes unchanged
There is not much commotion on the organic table potato market, but the demand for table potatoes is quite good. There is a fair amount of confidence among growers and the trade, which ensures that the potatoes are not simply said goodbye to. Much of what is being sold now has already been recorded before. In the short term, there will have to be more free purchasing, especially if exports will soon increase even faster. The DCA Indication Price for organic table potatoes remains the same this week and amounts to €55 to €70 per 100 kilos. The range is wide and this is due to differences in variety, quality of the batch and the sales market.

Trade is currently taking place on the organic onion market. Product needs to be purchased because sales have been good recently. The working supplies are limited and sales must be kept in check. Growers also want to see what yellow onions are still freely available sold at the right price. They have been aiming high for some time, but the sales price is now closer to what can be paid by sorters. The DCA Indication Price for organic yellow onions increases this week and amounts to €63 to €78 per 100 kilos, with the fine size grading at the bottom and the coarse size grading at the top of this bandwidth. It should be noted that this price was determined on the basis of few transactions.
